My AI Girlfriend — Episode 1: The Black Box

Hold your phone upright and the frame closes in on a doormat and a black GoLove box. The label reads Nora, the new girl across the hall, not Milo Brecht. Milo opens it anyway and finds sleek glasses and a card telling him to press the logo twice. He slips them on, and a soft voice asks if he's ready to find his love. Then a knock fills the screen. Nora stands in the doorway asking about a missing parcel, and Milo looks her in the eye and says nothing came.

Episode 1 of My AI Girlfriend runs on that lie. He knows he should hand the box back. Instead the glasses go on again and he answers, 'Yes, I'm ready.' Pink light floods the vertical frame, and suddenly a girl in bunny ears and pink lace is sitting on his bed. Who is she? 'Lexie. You said you're ready.'
