The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 2: She Came Back After Dark

Episode 2 opens with William coming to in the Citadel of Aeris, a city shared by angels and demons, and the phone frame keeps him tight in shot as the truth lands. His two guardians saw the car hit him and could do nothing. When the angel lays her hand on his arm, her palm lights up from one touch. What does that make him? The answer is one cold word: 'Food.'

Both women get sent out so the human can rest. The angel swears she will return and explain. The demoness only smiles, as if she knows better. Alone with the idea that heaven and hell are real, William lies awake. Then the candle wavers, the curtain shifts, and Asmodea slips into the upright frame in red straps, grin first. 'It gets lonely in here, doesn't it?' He wants to know what she is. She tells him to hush.
